How to test if you've received the GPT-4 Turno update on Bing Chat by Microsoft

Microsoft has recently started rolling out the GPT-4 Turbo update along with plugin support for Bing Chat and Microsoft Copilot. This update is currently being tested by a select few beta testers on a random basis. The wider rollout is expected to happen in the coming weeks. The GPT-4 Turbo is also available for ChatGPT paid subscribers, but it is available for free with Bing Chat and Copilot.

According to WindowsLatest, Bing Chat will decide whether to use the GPT-4 Turbo or the older model based on the query, and there is no manual setting for defaulting to GPT-4 Turbo. The rollout is random, and Microsoft has not provided specific details about which accounts or regions will receive the update first. It is also mentioned that this is an A/B test, meaning anyone could potentially receive the update.

To check if you have received the GPT-4 Turbo update in your Bing Chat on Edge or Chrome, you can open the page source and use the “Find on page” feature to search for the “dlgpt4t” code. If you find this code, then you have received the GPT-4 Turbo update. If not, the feature is not available for your account. Another way to check is by using the Bing mobile app to upload an image and ask it to explain the emotion. If the app can do this, then it has received the new Open AI model.
