'Improved ChatGPT, AGI, Ethical Oversight: CEO Sam Altman Unveils User Demands for 2024'

OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, has unveiled a comprehensive list of top demands from ChatGPT users, highlighting their aspirations for technological advancements in the upcoming year. The twelve requests include the development of GPT-5, progress towards achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), improvements in voice modulation capabilities, refining control over wokeness/behaviour, and more. Altman conveyed the user demands via a post on X, emphasizing the community’s strong desire for progress. He committed to reviewing and fulfilling as many requests as possible, while also expressing enthusiasm for other projects.

AGI, or Artificial General Intelligence, refers to an intelligent system with broad knowledge and cognitive capabilities within the field of computer science. In a recent interview with Time magazine, Altman emphasized the significant impact of AGI, calling it humanity’s most powerful technological innovation to date. He acknowledged the need for changes in governance and interaction with the world to ensure AGI isn’t controlled by a small group of individuals. Altman expressed OpenAI’s motivation to improve governance and engage globally.

OpenAI introduced the GPT-4 Turbo language model during its developer conference in November, reaffirming the company’s dedication to technological advancements. Altman discussed the potential of AGI, stating that it could be the most powerful technology in terms of democratizing access to information worldwide.
