OpenAI Releases GPT-4o
OpenAI unveiled its next-generation AI model, GPT-4o, which boasts significant improvements in text, speech, and video processing capabilities. GPT-4o not only matches the intelligence level of GPT-4 but also offers optimizations in speed and multimodal processing. For instance, users can take a photo of a menu, and GPT-4o can instantly translate it and provide relevant historical and recommendation information.
Moreover, GPT-4o’s language processing capabilities have been greatly enhanced, now supporting features like logins and user settings in over 50 languages. Free users will gradually gain access to more advanced features such as data analysis, image chat, and file uploads, although there will be certain limits on the number of messages sent per month.
In an effort to enhance user experience, OpenAI also launched a new desktop application for macOS, with plans to release a Windows version in the future. The new application includes a voice mode, allowing users to interact with ChatGPT via voice.
